Bring readings online
Explore a companion website or app that makes sensor readings easier to view and compare over time.
The goal is to make the composting process more understandable beyond the display on the bin.
Looking ahead
Keep experimenting.
Keep growing.
Waste Wise is our starting point. These are the directions we’re exploring as we develop the prototype and think about what EcoTek can build next.
Ideas on our workbench.
Future directionsExplore compost heat
Investigate whether a thermoelectric generator could capture a small amount of energy from a temperature difference around the compost system.
This is an experimental direction that will need careful testing.
Build a plant monitor
Explore a smaller project that monitors growing conditions and compares plants receiving different compost treatments.
It could offer a practical starting point for students joining the team.
Support EcoTek
Good ideas grow
through community.
Help more people discover student engineering and sustainability by sharing EcoTek’s work. Bring questions, perspectives, and practical feedback to conversations about our projects.
If you meet us at an event, ask about Waste Wise. We’re always learning, and thoughtful questions help us consider what to test next.
